Comprehensive circumcision services for children and adults at Mayflower Clinic, Nagpur. Five surgical techniques available — from modern ZSR stapler circumcision to conventional and laser methods. Every procedure performed personally by Dr. Pawan Shahane, M.Ch. Plastic Surgery.

Circumcision is the surgical removal of the prepuce — the fold of skin (foreskin) that covers the glans penis. It is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures in the world, undertaken for medical, hygienic, cultural, and religious reasons.
At Mayflower Clinic, circumcision is available for patients across all age groups — from neonates and young children (under general anaesthesia) to adult men (typically under local anaesthesia as a day-care procedure).
Mayflower Clinic offers five distinct circumcision techniques. The appropriate method is selected based on the patient's age, foreskin anatomy, personal preference, and the clinical indication. Dr. Shahane will discuss all options at consultation.
Medical indications include: Phimosis (non-retractile foreskin), paraphimosis, recurrent balanitis, posthitis, lichen sclerosus of the prepuce, and preputial adhesions. Non-medical indications include religious practice (Islamic, Jewish) and personal hygiene preference.
A decision-support guide explaining what the term “new generation” may mean, how laser-assisted circumcision differs from other techniques, and why newer terminology does not automatically mean a better result.
Read the New Generation Laser Circumcision guide →Each technique is matched to the patient's age, anatomy, and clinical need. Dr. Shahane advises the most appropriate method at consultation.

The classic surgical technique — foreskin removed by scalpel, wound closed with sutures. Universally applicable. Most familiar and widely used technique.

Circular stapling device cuts and seals simultaneously. Near-bloodless, 10–15 min operative time, staples fall off in 10–14 days. Most requested adult technique.

Performed for religious and cultural observance. Executed with surgical precision and sterile technique to ensure safe and accurate outcomes.

Preferred for infants and neonates. A small plastic bell protects the glans while a suture constricts blood supply; the foreskin separates naturally. No scalpel required.

CO₂ laser-assisted foreskin removal with precision cutting, minimal bleeding, and reduced post-operative discomfort. Preferred for patients with diabetes or bleeding concerns.
Dr. Shahane will assess your anatomy, age, and preference and recommend the most suitable option during your consultation.
